Introducing Tony Okeefe

I am a sculptor and installation artist living in Queenstown, New Zealand.

From a zero-waste studio at Bob’s Cove I enjoy off-grid isolation, the company of farm animals and the intensely private world of arc welding.

Employing my signature materials of old steel and found objects I fuse beautiful, dramatic and sometimes menacing forms, my works reference nature, science, philosophy and religion in personal geometries which frequently allude to deeper intellectual currents.

I insist that art is a mutual, multi-sensory experience and I strongly invite everyone to enjoy the physical and tactile dimensions to my sculpture and unlike most exhibits, the message here is: “PLEASE TOUCH THE ART”
