Te Muka Toi,
Te Muka Tākata

The Three Lakes Cultural Trust has collaborated with the Queenstown Lakes District Council (QLDC), Lakes District Museum and Kāi Tahu to develop Te Muka Toi, Te Muka Tākata | The Creativity, Culture and Heritage Strategy for the Queenstown Lakes District.

Te muka toi, te muka tākata

The unbreakable thread connecting creativity and humanity

This community strategy aims to set a shared vision and commitment to creativity, culture and heritage in the district. It provides guidance on what should be preserved, maintained, and celebrated, and outlines the necessary steps to achieve these goals. It also acknowledges the important role of arts and culture in contributing to the social, cultural, economic, and environmental wellbeing of our communities and aims to ensure appropriate resources and partnerships are in place to support these outcomes.

Through strategic investment, the district aims to become a more vibrant and attractive place to live, work, and visit, supporting the development of a regional arts ecosystem and building creative capacity within the community.
