The Three Lakes Cultural Trust has strong working relationships with creative communities and a track record of delivering initiatives that meet their needs and those of their audiences.

We aim to create and maintain relationships and partnerships, support growth and development, provide easy access to resources and information, and promote our arts, culture, and creative communities and spaces.

This involves working with arts practitioners, educators, arts organisations, community groups, donors, grant providers, and our partners Kāi Tahu, Queenstown Lakes District Council, and Lakes District Museum and Gallery.

We also collaborate with groups like Creative New Zealand, the Arts Council of New Zealand Toi Aotearoa, and other Regional Arts Organisations and the Regional Arts Network Aotearoa (RANA). Through RANA, we work together to support investment in the arts, culture, and creativity sector across New Zealand.

Our key focus areas are

  • Develop strong relationships with stakeholders to connect artists, audiences, partners, and funders. This will help cultivate relevant expertise, projects, and resources to be shared for mutual benefit.

Create a respectful, inclusive, inspirational, and collaborative environment to foster a sense of community amongst our creatives and support their growth and success.

  • Represent and advocate for creativity, culture, and heritage in the Queenstown Lakes District by highlighting its value, relevance, and influence to decision-makers, community leaders, funders, and the wider community.

It also involves delivering the initiatives in the district’s Creativity, Culture and Heritage Strategy and collaborating with RANA and its Arts Action Now nationwide advocacy programme.

  • Offer guidance and create opportunities to build capacity, enhance skills, and boost confidence, helping artists and the wider community grow and thrive.

  • Promote and encourage the growth of creative industries and the creative community.  Share the stories of our creative people and cultural experiences to help amplify creativity, culture and heritage in the region to build greater awareness, interest and audiences.

Powered by Three Lakes Cultural Trust, Te Wāhi Toi is the online directory and whats on guide for all things arts and culture in the Queenstown Lakes District. This free resource is designed to promote arts, culture and heritage to both locals and visitors alike.
