RANA - The Regional Arts Network of Aotearoa

Part of our mahi at the Three Lakes Cultural Trust (TLCT) involves building long-term partnerships with national arts organisations, government bodies and cultural policymakers. To enable a vibrant and distinct arts and cultural sector in our district to blossom, advocating and understanding the system is vital.

As part of this advocacy work TLCT Chair, Gizelle Regan has connected with Regional Arts Network of Aotearoa (RANA). She attends regular huis with regional arts organisations (RAOs) operating throughout Aotearoa, that provide strategic direction and support for sustainable arts, culture and heritage development.

Over the last 18 months RANA has been discussing the development of a regional arts model, that would see a network of regional arts organisations more sustainably funded to deliver initiatives. This is an exciting development for this sector and we will keep you informed as this progresses.
