A huge honour, Spirit of Wakatipu Award winners
We were honoured to receive the Arts and Culture Award at the recent Spirit of Wakatipu Awards and Gala dinner held Saturday September 24.
These awards celebrate the individuals, organisations, groups and corporate entities who contribute in a philanthropic way to the Wakatipu community and hold true to the values that collectively define what is unique about Queenstown Lakes district.
Founding trustees, Abby O’Neil and Carroll Joynes, who were in the US at the time of the event, said this award is testament to the amazing commitment of both the board of trustees and the team.
“TLCT was set up in 2019 to support the development of a vibrant arts and culture offering for our communities, and in this relatively short time period we have made significant progress towards this vision.”
Samantha Kirk, Operations Manager at TLCT said she felt privileged to accept the award on behalf of the organisation.
“There are so many people to thank including the wonderful creatives within our community that inspire imagination, role model self-expression and enrich the vibrancy of the Wakatipu.”
Richard Howarth, TLCT Board Trustee, who attended the awards, said it is fantastic to see the arts and culture being celebrated and recognised.
“What an honour! We are seeing a real shift in the value placed on this very vital sector and will continue working with our communities to ensure that this momentum continues. “
