Tori Beeche
I live and work in Kā-Muriwai, Arrowtown. I graduated with a BFA (First Class Honours) in 2015 and a MFA (First Class Honours) in 2020 from Elam School of Fine Arts, University of Auckland.
My work reimagines poetic fragments of history through a contemporary lens. I create compositions that explore nostalgia, longing, and the shaping power of interior spaces.
My paintings often employ the motifs of genre painting – windows, mirrors, and doorways – interwoven with decorative elements and patterns that question how environments influence perception and memory.
