Staying connected on all things arts & culture
It feels like an age ago that we held the launch of The Three Lakes Cultural Trust at the Queenstown Contemporary Gallery with over 250 guests. But we haven’t been standing still since then.
The Trust has been busy connecting our communities through the online platforms available and we encourage you to join our online community hub (click here) and share creative work from you and others here for the community to enjoy. We have already had some great content posted so make sure you check out the work of our very talented community.
You can also follow us on the Three Lakes Cultural Trust’s Facebook & Instagram pages, through these platforms we will keep you updated on upcoming Trust events and wider events within the online community. We are working on a scoping document for a new arts and culture portal for the district but in the meantime stay informed through the temporary arts & culture portal page here on our website. We look forward to connecting with you soon.

On Tuesday 14 April, Creative New Zealand opened its first phase Emergency Response Package, a $16 million investment to be distributed to the arts sector through to 30 June 2020 (the end of Creative New Zealand’s financial year). Read more here >

Copyright Licensing New Zealand is running a Special Round of its Contestable Fund Grants in order to support short-term projects that have arisen or been developed to respond to the changed environment in the New Zealand writing and publishing sector during COVID-19.

Creating your own online workshop
This week the Trust in conjunction with Big Hearted Leaders completed a series of three workshops aimed at providing tools and resources to run your own realtime online workshops. A video summary of this workshop will be available on our portal page and on the Trust Facebook page next week. More workshops will be offered with varying topics in the near future. We would love to hear your ideas of what tools and skills you would like to learn about.

Community Voice Sessions
The Trust conducted the second round of community voice sessions in March. During these sessions Trustees shared findings and recommendations from the recently released Draft Cultural Masterplan and invited attendees to give their feedback. Unfortunately due to COVID-19 we didn’t get to Wanaka & Hawea but when the appropriate “alert level” allows, we look forward to presenting and getting the remainder of our communities valuable feedback.
