About us

The Three Lakes Cultural Trust is the independent not-for-profit Regional Arts Organisation for the Queenstown Lakes District.

Established in 2019, TLCT plays a key role in supporting and promoting creativity, culture, and heritage across Queenstown, Wānaka, and the wider Southern Lakes region.

We work to enrich community life, nurture creative talent, and strengthen the cultural, social, and economic wellbeing of our region.

Our vision is for the Queenstown Lakes District to be a thriving hub of arts, culture, and creativity—a place where artists and communities flourish.

We’re guided by core values of innovation, inclusion, respect, collaboration, and visionary thinking.

As proud members of the Regional Arts Network Aotearoa (RANA), we’re also part of a national movement building stronger creative futures across Aotearoa.

Through partnerships, advocacy, and bold ideas, we’re making space for creativity to lead.

Our spectacular alpine scenery and diversity of communities, cultures and perspectives have long inspired creativity and a spirit of learning, exploration and innovation.

Woven together, they have shaped our heritage and unique whakapapa/identity, attracting people from all walks of life to live, work and visit.

This vibrancy and inclusivity are reflected in the district’s ecosystem of creative practitioners, filmmakers, businesses, culture and heritage organisations, galleries, festivals and events - all of which you can find on our virtual arts and culture hub, Te Wāhi Toi/The Arts Place.

Queenstown Lakes District is proud to be named the second most creative city in Aotearoa, and are working together to become a hub of creativity, culture and heritage.
