Matthew Tyrell / Winterkeep
Practice: Cinematic soundscapes
The Experience: The performance culminates in an immersive live storytelling and music experience, combining spoken-word recordings, original soundscapes, and visual projections to bring decades-old stories to new audiences. Through a blend of performance, poetry, and music, audiences are invited to connect with personal histories, shared human experiences, and the unexpected ways lives intersect across time and distance. About the Artist:
Matthew Tyrrell is a musical artist recording under the name Winterkeep here in Queenstown for many years and has only in the past 12 months taken it out into the community. Mat creates cinematic soundscapes by processing a mixture of real-world instruments (guitar and piano mostly) and mixing with samples, spoken word, field recordings and drum machines, synths etc. to create with instruments rather than computers.
