The Experience: The art is a one metre square symmetry painting built from a black‑and‑white NOTAN foundation executed with robotic painting precision.

This work promotes the @womaninsymmetry project, which develops symmetry‑based surface designs for public installation, related gallery paintings derived from wearable‑arts figures, and modular tiling applications.

About the Artist:

Grant Whibley works across three territories of painting: oil portraits of birds, symmetry‑based mixed‑media paintings of costumed figures from wearable arts, and symmetry‑based tile design.

These tile designs are now being developed into a painting system that merges mechanical precision with human modulation, presenting publicly as a modular form of artistic practice and social integration.

Grant’s work explores rhythm, balance, and the structural dimensions of the physical and foundational — how symmetry can operate as both a visual and philosophical principle.

Grant runs WomanInSymmetry, their design ecosystem that connects robotic precision with hand‑drawn geometry, bridging art, design, and surface application.
