The Learning Space, By ArtReach

If you work on creative projects and events, or with a community organisation in Queenstown Lakes or Central Otago, then The Learning Space is for you.

Community groups, creatives and for-purpose organisations are vital in helping to build strong, vibrant communities across Queenstown Lakes and Central Otago. But many face common challenges like limited time, funding, and access to professional development.

The Learning Space is a free e-learning platform designed to help you build skills, confidence, and connections while strengthening your organisation’s reach and impact.

The Learning Space was adapted from the high-successful ArtReach programme developed by Creative Waikato. We are thrilled to have the CEO of Creative Waikato. Dr. Jeremy Mayall, joining us for an information session on The Learning Space, diving deeper into;

  • Project Planning: Master the key steps for successful project delivery.

  • Audience Development: Build meaningful connections with your audience.

This session moves beyond online learning, creating space to test ideas, ask questions and translate what you’ve learned into practical use.

Meet Dr. Jeremy Mayall

Jeremy is an advocate for arts, culture and creativity and the role that they play as an essential part of community wellbeing.

He is a composer, musician, artist, producer and researcher who is committed to making the world a more interesting place.

Born and raised in Kirikiriroa, Jeremy is a passionate arts champion (hypebeast), and is fascinated by the interrelationships between sound, time, space, the senses, and the human experience.

He is a multi-disciplinary collaborator, and has been a part of projects with musicians, dancers, poets, circus performers, theatre practitioners, scientists, perfumers, bakers, mixologists, authors, sculptors, painters, photographers, filmmakers, health professionals,  pyrotechnicians, lighting designers and immersive visual artists.

As well as being a creative person, he has a background as an academic researcher, so understands the importance of the arts, culture and creativity and the impact they have on our communities at all levels.

This Creative Spaces Project is brought to you by Three Lakes Cultural Trust and huddl, supported by the Department of Internal Affairs, and Creative Waikato.
